Covenant's Vision and Values
Who are we?

Covenant for New England is an organization of Christian leaders, pastors and laity. We believe God wants His Church in New England - to be filled with His Spirit - to be passionate in advancing the values of His Kingdom - and to be effective in evangelizing and impacting secular culture with godly values.

What do we believe?

We believe that this region is on the verge of a mighty revival that will span across denominational, ethnic and socio-economic lines.

We believe that before God pours out His Spirit, the people of God must find their way into a state of profound, functional unity.  Even as we retain legitimate differences, we must learn to function effectively as a corporate body and undertake concerted action in order to impact society with Kingdom values. We believe that, as II Chronicles 7:14 clearly states, before the land is healed, God’s people must collectively humble ourselves, seek God’s face in concerted prayer and covenant toward holiness and consecration of our lives to God’s service and glory.

We believe that these kinds of actions have to be undertaken collectively and deliberately, with solemn proclamations on the part of churches, believers, pastors and other Christian leaders. We believe that the path to this kind of spiritual and organizational unity needs to be carefully pursued and laid out, and penetrated by prayer, substantive dialogue and mutual submission.  As we humbly undertake the journey, God’s Spirit will provide guidance and illumination for future steps.

What are our goals?

Covenant for New England seeks to be an instrument for the strengthening of God’s Church in New England, in order that the Church might carry out its mandate to be salt and light in this culture. Our specific goals are to promote the regional Church’s spiritual vitality, functional unity and enhanced organizational effectiveness. The ultimate purpose of Covenant for New England is to impact all sectors of secular society with the values of the Kingdom of God. As The Master Plan suggests, the regional Church needs to adopt a corporate mindset. We must regain our biblical, corporate outlook and begin to plan, strategize and act accordingly. Through its efforts, Covenant for New England seeks to facilitate this kind of strategic, corporate action.

How will we accomplish these goals?

1. Functional Unity
- Gather pastors and lay leaders regularly for fellowship and prayer
- Promote formal cooperation among pastors and churches for evangelism and impact upon the culture
- Facilitate opportunities for key regional leaders to interact and get to know each other
- Create and maintain internet resources for planning and communication
- Encourage and support local coordinators and the formation of Action Teams

2. Spiritual vitality
- Coordinate gatherings and efforts of intercessors in the region
- Promote prayer, fasting and worship for revival
- Carry out large events for worship, intercession, vision casting and formation of a corporate outlook

3. Enhanced organizational effectiveness
- Promote formal communication and cooperation among Christian organizations
- Gather key regional leaders for cross-pollination, team building and vision sharing
- Engage in systemic, strategic planning to facilitate and undergird revival
