10 Days of Prayer Northfield, 2008

John Norton,
South Shore
Baptist Church, MA

Gather on November 10 to pray, worship and work for the revival that never ends

First meeting: Praise and worship,
8 – 10 am

“In the past,” writes Roberto Miranda, “we received great blessing when we have gathered from different points of the region to worship the Lord and intercede for His visitation upon all New England. We remember the wonderful gatherings that we have had at Tremont Temple in months past. We invite you to gather with us to minister to the Lord in prayer and worship on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Congregación León de Judá from 8 - 10 am. We want to keep things simple and not encumber ourselves with too much program. Rather we want this to be as pure a time as possible of dedicated ministry to the Lord. We will flow in periods of worship alternating with prayer and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us as He will. If you are hungry like us for a visitation from God upon New England, come and gather with us. Come in expectation of being a blessing and receiving a blessing. “Come ready to pray and let your voice be heard before the throne of Heaven.”

Second meeting: Volunteers’ meeting, 10:30 – 12 noon

Susan and Tim Johnson,
Calvary Live
Christian Church, CT

After a coffee break for a time of fellowship, we’ll meet to exchange information on how the Lord is blessing our progress in several volunteer areas. We’ll also share Covenant’s vision and enlist new helpers. Please bring a bottle of juice or some baked goods!

We have had some wonderful volunteers so far working with us, but we need fresh energy, fresh life, fresh gifting to come. Many of you will help us to advance this one step further. And we’re open to where God leads as you bring in new energies.

The substantial vision and goals of Covenant for New England have been refined over time by the Spirit. Note the increased emphasis on "a sound spirituality" and "the cultivation of leadership".

Please feel free to come to either the worship session at 8am or the volunteer session at 10:30 or BOTH!

Volunteer openings: Lend your heart and mind to bring revival to New England

These are only the beginning of volunteer possibilities. As you may know, Covenant for New England is a 100% volunteer organization. We welcome your ideas. The Holy Spirit may be directing you to Covenant for New England “for such a time as this” to help with the revival that has been prophesied by so many for this region. Join with us November 10 and share your vision for revival. Make new friends and enjoy their fellowship as we pray, worship and plan for the future together.

Al Shimer

Town or Church Liaison: Help “spread the word” about Covenant for New England and our events to your church, town or region. Develop and maintain a list of all pastors in your town. Distribute posters, bulletin inserts and fliers to area churches. Send press releases to local papers and radio stations. Forward e-mail reminders and 10 Days of Devotions to area churches, friends, and ministry leaders, etc. Please contact Allan Shimer at 978-561-1137 or ashimer@covenantfornewengland.org

Brandt Gillespie

Media Missionaries: God is using the media in new and exciting ways. At the September 8 meeting, Bob P. told how he’s using his local cable access channel to produce a weekly TV show focused on helping families. A young lady from Chelsea told how the Lord helped her use the web to witness to and lead an atheist to the Lord. If you’re interested in becoming a Media Missionary, please contact Brandt Gillespie at 978-744-4525 or bgillespie@covenantfornewengland.org.

You are a valuable “communications specialist”

If you are reading this, you carry a burden for revival in New England. What material would you see covered in this newsletter?

Among his many other gifts, Jonathan Edwards was the historian of the Great Awakening. He corresponded with many people in the American colonies and in England about the Lord’s visitations. Today he might have been a webmaster.

If you (or your kids!) have experience in any of the following fields and would like to learn more about Covenant communications, contact Madeleine at 978-371-1011 or Madeleine@covenantfornewengland.org.

10 Days of Prayer Northfield, 2008

Last year God said: "Call 120 to pray for the 10 days leading up to Pentecost." As we prayed and planned for 2008, we sensed God saying two things:

First of all, He is telling us to grow. We want to grow in numbers and also in depth and maturity this year.

Second, we sensed that we were to extend a special invitation to Pastors and Christian leaders. If you are in Christian leadership, we joyfully invite you to join us (a special invitation to pastors and Christian leaders).

We will cap off this year's 10 Days of Prayer with our own Global Day of Prayer celebration at Northfield (pending Northfield's approval.) Dave is planning a "Prayer Fair" complete with tents, children's activities, and food. We hope that by the Church of the Pioneer Valley and Western Massachusetts will join in this celebration.

Please prayerfully consider joining us at historic Northfield for the 10 Days of Prayer 2008 and be a part of the "Praylude" to what God is doing in New England and around the world.

In holy expectation,

Jonathan Friz
