An invitation from Roberto Miranda to partner with Covenant for New England
Dear
friend: Over
the past few months, many of you have indicated an interest in
joining with Covenant for New England to further the aim of bringing
revival and unity to the regional Church, as well as contributing to
the transformation of society along Christian values. We have prayed
and reflected carefully as to how best to harness these energies and
use them to further God's Kingdom at this strategic time in the
history of our nation. To
this end, we are inviting you to a meeting of like minded believers
who are also willing to volunteer time and talent, or who would
simply like to know more about the mission and vision of our regional
effort. We expect that this will be more than just another dry
organizational meeting. It will be an opportunity for all of us to
cross-pollinate, pray and encourage each other in this God-breathed
vision of seeing our region transformed by and for the Glory of God. During
this meeting we hope to provide information on Covenant for New
England's mission and vision, as well as answering questions and
concerns related to this. While we have specific needs, we also would
like to know more about what areas of interest exist among potential
attendees, and what gifts and skills they would like to see put to
use in order to advance revival and functional unity among churches
and ministries in New England. We
also expect that the opportunity for believers of similar interests
and spiritual outlook to get together and hear from each other
respecting renewal and Christian initiative to transform the culture
will be beneficial in itself. We hope to provide some structured
time, even briefly, for this sort of exercise, followed by some
opportunity for prayer. The
main purpose of the meeting will be very practical, seeking to
increase the number of believers that Covenant might partner with to
advance the cause of renewal and revival in New England. Especially,
we would like to begin a master list of individuals from various
corners of the area, particularly Massachusetts that might be
interested in serving as liaisons between their churches, pastors and
Covenant for New England. Of
course, we would like to know where people would like to contribute,
as well as helping in these areas: 1.
Church and area liaisons 2. Publicity such as phone calls,
mailings and writing 3. Help at events such as ushering, setup and
breakdown 4. E-communications and video The
meeting will take place on Saturday, September 8 at Congregación León de Judá, 68 Northampton Street, Boston MA, 02118.
Parking is available at the back of the church. Please find driving
directions in English or Spanish at http://leondejuda.org. We
will meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with substantial refreshments
served. A reply would be highly appreciated, since that would help us
better prepare to make the best use of our time together. Any
questions might be directed to Madeleine Prendergast, our
administrator, at madeleine@covenantfornewengland.org
or 978-371-1011. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, September
8. Please invite someone who might be interested in serving the Lord
with us. We are looking forward to a truly fruitful, blessed time.
See you then! Sincerely, Dr.
Roberto S. Miranda Chairman, Covenant for
