Come to the volunteers meeting, Saturday September 8Be a part of the godly transformation of New England!
by Madeleine Prendergast
Covenant for New England Communications Team We are moving in God’s currents toward revival. As Roberto Miranda stated, “We don’t create revival but we navigate and facilitate it. We provide conduits for the Lord on the human plane. When we speak of The Great Awakening, we might think of something coming out of nowhere and exploding like a meteor on the New England scene, but that’s not the way it was. There was a lot of collaboration.” Collaboration is a great teacher. Through the Global Day of Prayer New England, we’re learning about praying and worshipping God together, as well has how to work together. Please join us at the volunteers meeting on Saturday, September 8, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, at
Leon de Juda
Church, 68 Northampton Street, Boston, Massachusetts, 02118. The main purpose of the meeting will be very practical, seeking to increase the number of believers that Covenant might partner with to advance the cause of renewal and revival in New England. We’d like to get to know individuals from various corners of the area, particularly Massachusetts that might be interested in serving as liaisons between their churches, pastors and Covenant for New England. During this meeting we’ll provide information on Covenant for New England's mission and vision, as well as answering related questions and concerns. While we have specific needs, we’d also like to know more about your areas of interest, and what gifts and skills you would like to put to use in order to advance revival and functional unity among churches and ministries in New England. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, September 8. Please invite someone who might be interested in serving the Lord with us. We are looking forward to a truly fruitful, blessed time. Refreshments will be served. For more information and to RSVP, contact:

Implement the Global Day of Prayer New England 2008!by Allan Shimer
Covenant For New England Communications Team Member 2500 people attended the Global Day of Prayer New England in Fitchburg! People came from Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts,
Rhode Island, and Vermont--small towns and large cities, from a wide geographic area (see
placement of 181 donors on map). The all-volunteer Planning and Implementation Team did a wonderful job under the capable leadership of George Small, Pastor of Horizon Christian Fellowship, Paul Jehle, Pastor of New Testament Church, and Brandt Gillespie, President for PrayTV. The 10 Days of Prayer in Northfield, Massachusetts, organized by Jonathan Friz and Dave McCahon, was attended by 122 people from as far away as Oregon and Louisiana. Planning has already started for next year!
Next year’s Global Day of Prayer is May 11, 2008, just 3 days after the National Day of Prayer. I believe God is calling more talented and dedicated people to the team for the 2008 event. We need more pastors and lay-leaders to be involved early on in the planning, and many dedicated volunteers and professionals to handle prayer, publicity, finances, sound, lighting, music, setup and breakdown.
How you can join in: Would you like to have a part in working together with believers from other churches and ministries to contribute your time and talents in the area of fundraising, publicity and office work such as phone calling, data entry and mailings? Are you skilled and experienced in fundraising, lighting, sound, video production, interactive web design, interviewing or writing, or interested in an internship? If you’d like to join the team, contact me at ashimer@covenantfornewengland.org. Phone: 978-561-1137. We’d love to hear from you. Or come to the volunteers meeting on Saturday, September 8, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, at Congregación León de Judá, 68 Northampton Street, Boston, Massachusetts, 02118. Refreshments will be served. If you’d like to attend, please RSVP to Madeleine Prendergast at madeleine@covenantfornewengland.org or 978-371-1011.

Bringing Transformation to New EnglandAn exhortation delivered at the New England Global Day of Prayer
Roberto Miranda Senior
pastor, Congregación León de Judá May 27, 2007 Fitchburg MA Alleluia! Praise the Lord! We have made it! We have been planning for this event for months and months. It is the result of a lot of hard work and organization on the part of a lot of people. And we rejoice to see that you have reacted and have come to praise the Lord and to declare the unity of God’s people. I have been asked
to speak briefly on transformation for New England. I was led to
Joshua 1:3-9:
“3
Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given
you, as I said to Moses.
4
From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the
River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea
toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. 5
No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your
life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not
leave you nor forsake you. 6
Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as
an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7
Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do
according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not
turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper
wherever you go. 8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall
meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to
all that is written in it. For then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be
afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you
wherever you go.”
This, my brothers and sisters, is the Word the Lord has for us today, even though it was written thousands of years ago. I believe we have three basic elements here on how to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to make a revival, an awakening possible in this area. more

Experiencing Unity: A Report from the Ten Days of Prayerby Jonathan Friz
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary Divinity Student Joy is not complete until it is shared. I’m writing today to share the joy that God has given to many of us during the 10 Days of Prayer in Northfield, Massachusetts. We have tasted of the Lord’s goodness in a profound way. Our joy is spurred on by knowing that the 10 days in Northfield were just a foretaste of what God has in store for us. For many years I have wondered, “Lord, what would happen if your people dropped everything and sought you together.” Last fall, during a time of corporate fasting and repentance, the Spirit said, “Call 120 to pray for 10 days leading up to Pentecost”. There was to be no agenda. We were to do it “because we love Him”. This vision became the 10 Days of Prayer in Northfield, May 17-27th, leading up to the Global Day of Prayer New England. Unity was the hallmark of the 10 Days. We were a cross-section of the Body of Christ ethnically and denominationally. Steven Sutton, a participant says, “There was a degree of unity in Christ that I did not realize was possible before heaven.” more
